‘Truly great architecture stimulates all the senses.’

Architecture for me is like descending a mountain on my racing bike. An intense experience involving all my senses — the wind full in my face, the scent of fir trees soaked with rain, and the swooshing sound along the road. Architecture works when it stimulates all the senses.

Hanneke graduated as an artist from the Academy of Fine Art and Design St. Joost in 2001. She then spent a decade making visual work, illustrations for book covers and art for the public spaces. She then worked for various architecture firms, among them RAU, Mei architects and planners and wUrck.
