‘I want to design spaces that not only are collective but also give users a sense of belonging.’

Architecture, especially in public buildings, has the potential to create places for interaction. What drives me is the challenge of designing a space that is not only collective but also allows for appropriation by the users and a sense of belonging. A stage for the continuous pendulum between the self and the social and its infinite combinations.

Gustavo graduated as an architect and urbanist from the University of São Paulo (FAU USP) in 2016. He also studied for a year at TU Delft, with a particular focus on public buildings. He won the ArchDaily Award for best graduation project in Brazil and Portugal.
